ginza on the weekendThese are just some random shots I put together from recent rolls. That house in the third shot was so interesting when I rode past it on my bike I had to go back to get the shot. The most unique potted garden spotted in Tokyo! I wonder what people who live here are like. :)

Something from previous weeks I meant to mention and never got to:
●Received a lovely necklace I won (!) for a giveaway at gemmifer. The exact one that I got is not listed at the moment, but you can see her beautiful works here.
●Went to see Lucie Rie: A Retrospective at the National Art Centre Tokyo.
Another post from here made me smile :)

Asagaya is a cute little town on Chuo Line, in the west Tokyo area that is totally out of where I normally hung out. The only reason I ever go there is because one of my clients is there. This time I got there early and explored a bit, having nice lunch in a sweet cafe called "hinemosunotari" and fell in love with the place! They sell lovely ceramics and glassware too, next time I will get there a lot earlier before my meeting, is what I decided leaving there.

yellow x green

February was definitely a month of yellow, but I thought it might be green for March seeing the photos from the couple of recent films developed. While we are waiting for the sakura (cherry blossoms) season, it snowed today. In Japan we say the spring comes after some repeats of "3 cold days after 4 warm days" (三寒四温), so we're now in the "3 cold days" period which means it should get warmer soon! Come spring, hurry!!!!!

P.S. Did you see this amazing photo combo???

bear pond

Just some random shots from a day in Shimokitazawa with my friend a little while ago. Bear Pond is my favourite cafe for a quick coffee and daughnuts (bought from Hara Daughnuts right across from the cafe). Have a quick peek in Sally Scott (their shop in Shirogane is the best though), wonder around for a while and then eat and drink at a cozy French bistro "Trocadero", then finish with coffee and desert at ericafe. A nice way to spend a day :)

after the mealThese are taken at my favourite cafes in Tokyo. I like spending my time alone in a cafe examining every little detail of the space and smile to myself (in my heart), but it's also lovely to share it with someone of course i need to have that as well :)

one fine dayMost of them are experimental shots taken with my new old canon film camera. All taken in the closer parts of tokyo from where I live except the last one was taken in Tochigi (2hrs north of tokyo) when I went there for my friend's wedding.
Thank you so much for those who left comments and concerns to my previous post about typhoon hitting Japan. Around after lunch time it passed Tokyo and the sun even came out (after so many days!) and it turned out to be a rather beautiful day, only VERY windy. I took this photo just a couple of hours earlier and couldn't believe how beautiful and clear the sky was after all that hustle in the morning! I should have taken a photo then too so I could compare...oh well next time maybe though I hope NO MORE TYPHOON at least until next late summer.

While Tokyo was being hit by a powerful typhoon;
it was snowing (!!!) with only 6 degrees in missoula montana where Jenna lives, a perfect cold but sunny autumn day in gothenburg, sweden where Michaela is, a sunny-then-cloudy, then-sunny-then-cloudy-and-cool "spring" day (sounds like a typical Melbourne weather ;) ) in Melbourne the home of mizu designs, cold but sunny in Oxford where Alice (who I think will be coming to Japan soon!?) is, "hot and humid" says Aron in Hawaii, and a warm sunny beautiful weather of Southern France where Marion is made me so jealous!!!

Oh i loved hearing about the weather comments from all over the world!!!! Hope you all have a wonderful Thursday evening!! (I will be continuing to work, got too much on hands right now :(
setagaya sky
setagaya sky
setagaya skyTotally unlike these skies I photographed on a same day a little while ago, today's Tokyo sky is horrible. My windows are rattled by strong wind and rain banging against them since early this morning. One of the biggest typhoons in the past 10 years (so powerful that the JR Yamanote Line is stopped!) is hitting the entire Japan and I'm hoping so hard that it will pass soon and the calm clear sky will come back which I haven't seen for days.

How is the weather on your ends? A lot better than here I hope.

01: Lobby at D&Department Tokyo.

02-04: Spiral Market - one of my favourite shops in Omotesando. Went to see a little exhibition which Makoto Kagoshima was participating. Yes I got one the plates! See bree's this post to find out more about Makoto-san.

05: Lisa Larson Design Store in Shibuya. (apparently it was a limited store and now it's finished.)

I think I prefer the quiet part.

craziness
September in Tokyo is the festival season, almost every weekend you'd bump into one or two matsuri (festival) that are held at the shrines here and there. I love the lights and the smell of the matsuri, always reminds me of the excitement and the "doki-doki" feelings I used to have there when I was a child. Talking about the festival, I did go to the Vietnam Festival in Yoyogi as I mentioned here before. Well it was bit of a disappointment, and there's not much to say about it.

The third photo is from the crazy Shibuya crossing I took during the day. I don't go to Shibuya unless I have to which normally doesn't happen so often, but I don't know how many times I went in September, many many times! One day I overheard an American tourist murmur in the exhausted voice "Oh I don't know, but Tokyo seems a little too crowded. *sigh*", I felt exactly the same but at the same time I felt sorry for him and hoped that he got to see the better parts of Tokyo.

Oh and here is a good memory of September from last year, my darling little neice at the local matsuri ;)
