Trip to Kanazawa #02: Omicho Ichiba
Wednesday, 24 June 2009And this is what I had for lunch - Omicho Kaisen (seafood) Donburi! It is huge and is full of local fish sashimi. Each slice of sashimi is about 2.5 times thicker and bigger than what we normally get in Tokyo. Oh I want another donburi now!
Beautiful images.
ReplyDeletewow, that dish looks amazing! the market is so abundant and beautiful
ReplyDeletewhat an abundance and beauty, it seems to me a real food-paradise:)
ReplyDeleteHi hiki! This market looks incredible and so different than those we have here...
ReplyDeleteLast time on my blog, you asked me a question about the butterflies. Actually it's not the kind of species you can find around here. We went to a special place called papillorama, an amphitheater where you can see more than 60 species of butterflies from all over the tropics. They are fluttering around. it's really magical!
I wish you a nice day!

ReplyDeleteThank you for the comments, yes it sure was a food paradise! So rich in atmosphere, energy and colours. And the dish was great!
Hello lovepics,
Yes the markets (especially fish markets) look quite different from the ones you see in the western countries, but I love markets in any places!
and thank you for telling me about the batterflies! I thought that one looked quite special and now I know it actually was a special kind!
Hello Julia,
Thank you for finding my blog! I think Kanazawa in autumn would be extra beautiful. With all the leaves changing colours in the famous big garden called "kenroku-en" should look wonderful!
your pictures brings things to life so beautifully- thankyou for sharing!
