ノルウェイの森 (Noruwei no Mori) - Norwegian Wood
Thursday, 16 December 2010The movie Norwegian Wood (Noruwei no Mori), yes the movie based on Haruki Murakami's novel has finally been released in Japan and yes I've seen it. As a fan of both Haruki Murakami and the Vietnamese-French director Tran Anh Hung, I had waited for so long to see it since hearing about this movie having started to be filmed. It.was.beautiful. It is a kind of movie that is best seen at the theatre screen. I guess you could enjoy it even without having read the novel, but you'd enjoy it a lot more if you've read it (and if you've read it again before seeing the movie). So do start reading it again if you think you will go see the film!!
I really want to see this! :)
ReplyDeleteOh I can`t wait to see this! I hope it comes to Norway too!! I cross my fingers...
ReplyDeleteeee, so excited, already released in Japan, i think it'll be a year to be in a film festival in here :-( Seems the scenery is beautiful :-O
ReplyDeletei've been waiting for this! glad the movie doesn't disappoint the book :)
ReplyDeleteoh wow! i hope they screen it in London!
ReplyDeletei really hope it comes soon to france too! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting about this Hiki! I remember when you first wrote about the making of this movie I was so excited that I had to read the book for a second time. And now I think I should read it again! The story touches me so deeply and I have created such personal images around it that I'm quite afraid of losing them after watching the film. But I have to see it anyway!
ReplyDeleteKind regards.
I hope this movie will be released here in Canada too, it looks like such a beautiful movie, the scenery is gorgeous and the plot seems original and nice too
ReplyDeletei`m also waiting for the movie`s release. The trailer has already impressed me
ReplyDeletei'd like to see this movie..
ReplyDeletebut it doesn't have any distributor yet here in france..
i hope one day it will..!
hope it's on in the cinema when i get back; so wanna see this!
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone for leaving comments on this post, I'm sure it will go over to many countries later!
ReplyDeleteKaren, that will be a good idea to read the book again before finally seeing the film, I tried to read it for about the 4th time? but I could only read about half of it. still i think it was good that i read it again just before seeing the movie though ;)
Sekimachihato, As so much of the original dialogue/script from the novel is used in the movie I imagine it can be hard even for advanced Japanese speakers! But I don't think you'd have much problem because you seem such an expert!! ;)
OMG,
ReplyDeleteI had no idea they were even making a movie. I only read the book this year and I absolutely loved it. This is great news. I wonder how long it will take before we can see it North America...
Does anybody know?
