In the neighbourhood.
Friday, 22 January 2010I carry my camera with me almost all the time when I go out, even when I just go quickly run to the post office. These are what I always see, I enjoy seeing them at different times of the day, how they look different at different times. The house in the top photo is my favourite house in my neighbourhood. They have a cherry tree in their balcony up on the first floor, I should take a photo when the blossoms are out to show you. I hope the house owner will not be mad at me.
Happy weekend!
P.S. Check out olivelse new web shop! Also pieni. These are my favourite lovely shops from France. And these mittens from mieke willems are SO CUTE!
You make me miss Japan so much! That little shop at the end looks cute.
ReplyDeleteThe house in the first photo is beautiful ! I've read you live near Jiyugaoka area, I went there last time I was in Tokyo and I loved it ! it's such a peaceful place and there's lots of cute shop/cafes..
ReplyDeleteOlivelse shop is great, I love her blog :p
all really beautiful! lucky you:)
ReplyDeletehappy week-end hiki, i love this set!
ReplyDeleteI love that first house too - quite Kyoto-ish, don't you think?
ReplyDeletealice, i think i know that feeling, after coming back from holidays... yes that little shop is cute, isn't it!
ReplyDeleteNarumi, jiyugaoka isn't as exciting as other areas in tokyo, but it's nice to be living near it. olivelse shop is wonderful isn't it.
marie, thank you! what i'd love to do today is to walk around melbourne streets with my camera under the nice hot sun. (if it's not too strong)
lucie, thank you :) happy weekend to you too!
Jeanne, yes it is kind of Kyoto-ish. much more modern i think though. just wonderful.
that first house is so lovely. i like their use of textures. And I really like those shrubs they have. Japanese have the best gardens.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with that store front.
Lovely photos - very atmospheric, especially the first and last ones!
ReplyDeletethese kinds of photos make me feel lonely in a happy way. haha... i like doing this, too. walking in the neighboorhood. im still kind of shy pointing my camera especially when there are passersby.
ReplyDeleteanyway, im planning to include you in the blogroll of my little blog. im asking your permission before doing it. i hope its ok with you! ^^ thanks!
looks so quiet and peaceful (very typical of jyutakugai i guess).
ReplyDeleteit's very hard to take a photo without people in it over here in hong kong...
Celine, i love japanese gardens too, but it's not that common for people to have it at their home. well not many people have ANY gardens at all in tokyo anyway! space is so limited, unfortunately...
ReplyDeleteDanya Ristić, thank you so much! i'm glad you like them :)
mike, i know what you mean! i get a little shy pointing my camera sometimes too. but i guess you'll get used to it. and of course i'd be more than happy to be included in your blogroll!
sekimachihato, do you mean even in the residential area it's hard to take a photo without people in it!? i normally get around on the weekdays, so i guess there's less people, but still i always try to avoid people gettin in my photos ;)
im so envious of the walks you take! beautiful :-)
ReplyDeleteyikes - they are great photos:) that top house, so wonderful. i would LOVE to see your photos with the sakura in bloom - yes please! i love the idea of a cherry tree on a balcony.
ReplyDeletebree, yes i will take a photo of it when the sakura is in bloom!! i can't wait for the sakura season!!
ReplyDeleteJust love your photos. There's such a unusual light, almost a Lomo feel...
ReplyDeleteyour photos are all amazing! they give the perfect feeling of the residential areas in Tokyo. May I ask what kind of camera you are using? I love the style of the treatment and would like to experiment with that feel!
