If you have been to Tokyo, many of you probably have visited Ginza. Ginza is known as a classy shopping district with many department stores and exclusive shops of designer labels. I'm not really the type who shop in Ginza but I've always been so attracted to this town. I enjoy walking around the small streets away from the busiest streets where all the in-expensive historical shops are around. It has kind of an unique atmosphere and is also very pretty walking around at night time.

There also is one of my favourite cinemas "Cine Switch", it happened to be the last day of showing "Sagan" so I went in to watch it. What a life she had! Apparently Françoise Sagan is said to be the typical image of French woman most Japanese had in the 50s and 60s. Bonjour Tristesse, is my all-time favourite.
いちごのお家。

Thank you to those who left comments on my previous post, i'm so grateful and at the same time i'm a bit overwhelmed. I never thought of taking photos of my neighbourhood before i started this blog, never thought there is anything attractive about it at all. But since i started sharing my photos here i slowly realised (or you made me realise) that there actually is something beautiful about what i see in my daily life that is worth photographing! So now I enjoy every casual walk or bike ride thanks to you and that is a real joy i find in my daily life. So thank you really!

Well, in the previous post i think i made many of you wonder what that strawberry thing is! Yes, it's a "strawberry house", the cutest sanrio shop filled with lots of kawaii stuff like HELLO KITTY. I was never really a big HELLO KITTY girl bit i used to loooove going in there when i was a little girl, it was like a dream, and now i go in there as a big girl to get little goodies for my little neice :)

If you can't find the "Add to Cart" button, that means it's sold out. But I take requests also so please feel free to ask me!

I read someone mention in his book many years ago, that in UK front doors always open inwards whereas in Japan they always open outwards and I was so convinced, as at the time I was living in Australia and it was the same there. (I've noticed in most other countries they open inwards.) The author said in the book he thinks the UK style (or the global style) gives a welcome feel to the guests when inviting them inside and that the Japanese style doesn't and I thought that could be true. But now I guess because in Japanese houses we have a little space called "genkan" where we take our shoes off on entering the house, if the doors open inwards it would be a problem (our shoes would be all squashed). Besides traditionally there only existed sliding type doors in Japanese houses and no hinged doors! I don't know why but I suddenly remembered about the book and had a little think about doors. Well maybe it's not a big deal, I just love doors and windows!

"OSUSUME" means recommended. The National Art Center Tokyo in roppongi is one of the OSUSUME spots in Tokyo. I sometimes visit there for lunch (Brasserie Paul Bocuse Le Musée on the 3rd floor is excellent!) and then go downstairs for browsing the museum shop "SOUVENIR FROM TOKYO" (you would love this shop!!), and of course take pictures - it's a great place for it :) It's a museum but often I don't actually see the exhibition there, there is so much more to this place! You can just pick your favourite designer chair which are found throughout the place and sit down for a quiet time if you get tired walking around, my favourite is the Egg Chair found downstairs.
Great architecture, too.
I found a great way of enjoying the rain without having have to go out and get wet, I just have to look out the window with my camera! (I know some people don't mind rain but I have to say that I do.)

The first photo appeared in one of my favourite blogs the blue hour (rather surprisingly) in a photo mosaic, and is done quite nicely - it's nice to see my photo in someone else's place. good surprise and fun, thanks to Brian. And of course, to the rain.

First time trial on a Solaris 200 film. Vivid colours seem to come out nice and deep, probably good for outdoor shots on sunny days. Got another roll of this film so I should do some more experiments.
