One evening in October in Omotesando, I went to see the "minä perhonen 15th Anniversary × SPIRAL 25th Anniversary Project" Exhibition -進行中- (=ongoing), right before it ended. The day was getting shorter and when I walked up outside from the subway it was already dusk, things like that sometimes make me a bit sad. But anyway, the exhibition was really great and I was so glad I could make it to go. No photos were allowed inside the exhibition, but here you can see some photos of the "backstage".

Beautiful beautiful creations. So inspiring.
Oh how I wish I could own one of their beautiful dresses one day!

minä perhonen shops in Kyoto are really so dreamy... Not far from the busiest intersection of the Kyoto city, there it is an old and beautiful building which I would call a minä perhonen paradise. Originally there was only one shop on the ground floor, but they opened minä perhonen arkistot on the level 3 of the same building last year where they stock their beautiful clothing from the past collections. Another shop opened earlier this year on the level 4 is "minä perhonen piece", another gorgeous space they created. There are so many little details which you would not want to miss in each shop like a cute drawings on the windows Mr Minagawa himself did, or sweet little signs hand-written on the walls etc. Wonderful, wonderful spaces!
You can see some images of "minä perhonen piece" here (text is in Japanese).

Shop info in English here.
The new 2010 Spring/Summer collection catalogue from mina perhonen has just been released. This 120 pages of ring-bound white catalogue is so poetic and truly beautiful. This time they also made DVD with a 16 minuite collection movie. I have some extra copies of the catalogue for the ones who live outside Japan, added here in my shop. Also see images from 2009 autumn/winter.

All images are from CLASKA.

Over the weekend, I went to the exhibition of a collaborative furniture project by mina perhonen and wonderful torafu architects at my very favourite shop/gallery in Tokyo -DO in Claska. Some very interesting new furniture pieces were exhibited including prototypes, and also there were some really lovely cushions and tablewares for sale. I could not resist that hasami-yaki ceramic (from Nagasaki) grey coffee cup & saucer seen in the top picture! (I'm seriously considering for going back for more.) It came in a pretty grey box too :) This exhibition will be going till the end of January, so if you will be in Tokyo check it out. You can also buy these wonderful items at CLASKA's online shop (Japanese).

Also, now the mina perhonen exhibition "The future from the past" is held at the Kanazawa 21st Century Museum until the end of May, so hopefully I will get the chance to go see it!

And for all mina lovers, do check out this and this (wonderful magazines full of mina perhonen!).

New posts here too ;)
Images are from http://haradatomoyo.com/

Tomoyo Harada is a Japanese singer/actress who used to be a popular idol in the 80s. I had never properly listened to her music before, but I'm getting kind of addicted to her recent works. Her voice is so soft and the tune is nice in the ears. And she wears minä perhonen!!!!! You can see all the minä perhonen dresses she's wearing in her website.

Also in the video clip of "Kuchinashi no oka(くちなしの丘)", my favourite which I've been playing over and over, she's wearing llovely dresses from mina so check it out! (It's amazing she's 41!)

Wonderful new minä perhonen catalogue, "紋黄蝶 2009-2010 Autumn / Winter Collection" has arrived, yay! This time it's a thick booklet style (70pages) and has lots of lovely images which covers all ladys, mens, childrens and babys collections. It's just so beautiful. mina perhonen is WONDERFUL!
"minä perhonen in iceland" featured in shortcoco magazine which I got when it first came out in 2006. The design never seems to go out of style.

Björk, Sigur Rós, múm are about the only keywords I can come up with when I think of Iceland (and oh they are all so great), but going through this "minä perhonen in iceland" again suddenly made me really want to go there...it seems so far away from japan but am so attached!

**You can now get the copy of this magazine here at my shop!
