Thank you so much for all your sweet words about my new shop! I have done 4 weekends (including the pre-opening week) so far and it's been really nice. Lovely friends coming to visit and I have many little happy surprises every week :)

My friend Ros just did an amazing post on my shop over at Poppytalk - thank you Ros that was so kind of you!!!
Ebo-chan of Hello Sandwich who recently published this incredible book so kindly came with Mr Y - thank you Ebo-chan!

And also, I was really lucky that Priscilla Ahn - a pretty/talented/lovely/cool singer song writer from L.A. - could come to my shop during her 5 day promotion trip to Tokyo! Priscilla has just released her best album that includes a song she wrote for a TV drama on NHK! She brought her lovely friend Emi Myer who is also a singer song writer from US and so I had two of the beautiful singers in my tiny shop!! That was really amazing and I was so happy, thank you pretty ladies :)

Just before Priscilla came to Tokyo I finished the makeovers of her website, I hope you go visit it and don't forget to check out her new online store also where you can buy her CDs that are hard to get in some countries!

Well, so November has been pretty much all work for me, but now I am starting to take more photos so I will update my blog more with some Tokyo pics.

Thank you once again for all your encouraging words and wishes (as ALWAYS!)!

Hello! Apologies for the long absence. Lots have been happening, still I am enjoying the lovely autumn weather in Tokyo, October is beautiful here. I have been hoping to tell you the news for quite some time now but things are going slow and I am not quite ready but anyway I will tell you - I am opening up a shop, an "actual" shop, in a building not just online (!!!!). It's going to be a very small weekend only shop, and it's in Tokyo so most of you who reads my blog will not be able to come but still I will tell you about it in better detail soon!

Hope you are enjoying October.

Lots of love from Tokyo,
Hiki

I have been really busy with my client works which resulting in me not taking so much photos lately, even on Instagram... but here are some from September! Mostly taken around home including some very enjoyable reading matters: WILDER QUARTERLY, Mjolk and the latest issue of Smith Journal which just arrived yesterday.

How has your September been? Hope you are all enjoying it!

Hiki

p.s. My instagram id is hiki_k if you would like to follow me please! You can find me on facebook too, and please also check out my shop as I have many new items added recently! Thank you :)
Summer, on Instagram.
Yes it's summer. August in Tokyo is probably the least fave month, the heat and extreme humidity take away all my energy... but actually the last couple of days have been actually quite nice and I wish it will always like this the entire month.

This morning I thought of Nagasaki. I thought of my grandparents who were there so close in the city, as newlyweds, who saw the flash and the blackness, who then survived. I thought of what happened there 67 years ago. Made my heart ache.

Listening to Priscilla Ahn makes me feel calm.

Happy Summer to you all♡
It's going to be very random but I hope you bear with me.

I always take the same photo when I go here.

My favourite bakery had the first anniversary and they gave me this happy face anpan :)

Had a lovely afternoon with Hanna and Jukka.
Lunch at cafe ikanika was peaceful as always.

I used to hate tomatoes, until quite recently, but now I love them.
Miracle does happen?

One morning I woke up to see these on the table and it made me smile.

Although we are in the middle of the rainy season, we've had many days with sunshine. (definitely not today.)

Trying some new tea.

And then we found an amazing forest (park) -best discovery of the year- and I can't wait to go back! (the tanabata decoration there was so pretty.)

* * *

So it's already July.
This month my shop UGUiSU turns 3 (!!) and so I am having an anniversary sale, you can use the code UGUISU3YEARS and receive 15% off entire store so if you are in need of some washi tapes, wrapping papers, other Japanese paper goods, kitchen towels etc., it's a good time to stock up on them :)

Happy July to you all!

I am finally getting comfy in my new home, and getting used to the new neighbourhood. It'll soon be one whole month since moving, it seems longer. I have found a favourite bakery where I can get the beautiful baguette, good new green grocer, flower shop, and many lovely shops for housewares and furniture all so close by. I will take photos of my new neighbourhood and share with you here soon! I'm ready for May now, summer will be here before I know it.

Lots have been happening in the past month, cold winter has been replaced by happy spring and now we are having the sakura season in Tokyo. My niece Ako was around for a week from Sendai and we had lots of fun together. Also we have moved house and it's been a huge hustle that I thought I wouldn't be able to enjoy sakura this year but I think I did pretty well in the end :) I have taken many photos so I will share them here soon!
february on instagram
I never meant to fill this blog with instagram photos but when I realised it was already the last day of February and that I had not posted anything here this month. I still haven't picked up my recent roll of film from the photo shop yet so please bear with me posting instagram photos again in a row.

Starting with my birthday, February has been good, happy, yummy, busy and freezing ending with snow. I hope your February has been good too, plum and mimosa are starting to bloom and Spring is felt not too too far away now despite the snow.
To tell you the truth I am scared of March arriving, so much mixed emotions inside me are daunting me, but it should be fine we'll all get through it.

It's been pretty cold in Tokyo lately, can't believe the first month of the new year is almost gone and another is about to arrive. It seems that lots have happened in January, it's been fun :) Images include the cutest package arrived from oly, lovely handmade vase by polkaros, my favourite canelé from local patisserie, package from tas-ka, and more fun winter moments captured!
Now I think I am ready to welcome February.

The 14 rolls of film I took during my holiday will come back developed soon so I will start sharing them here later! Thank you all for your kind words and wishes for my trip!!

The summer solstice today. A real summer-like day in Tokyo, hot and sticky (means awful). I have been so swamped with work lately and hence the absence from blogging. I haven't been taking photos so much either, except on iPhone. Instagram, like so many other people I am addicted to it. It's a fun way to record and share your daily life, and it's so easy :) So I'm sharing these images here for now I hope you like them! (But yes I hope to get back to the real photography soon too!)

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Sunny and Summery Thursday with Hello Sandwich having a nice lunch at favourite cafe, buying charity artwork, lovely walk with non-stop instagraming, working together back at my apartment. Such a jolly afternoon it was.

The artwork I bought is by a Swiss artist called Mirjam Joss. I googled her name but not much was found. Does anyone know anything about her? I want to tell her that I really love what I got.

Also bought some help japan badges from the cafe ohanaya (they do a couple of charity drinks too), and some help japan project post cards from gellerie doux dimanche by SOLEDAD and AT-SWIM-TWO-BIRDS (her original artwork was also exhibited and it was so beautiful! wish i could afford it......)!!!

You can see all the artworks that were donated from all over the world here!

I hope everyone's Thursday has been and will be lovely too!
And Happy Golden Week to those who are in Japan :)
