The new mina perhonen catalogue from the autumn/winter 2010-2011 collection has just arrived, it is again so very beautiful..... oh how i wish to own their dress one day!

So, Mori Girls. They have been all over Tokyo for some time now, even someone like me who never watches TV keep hearing and seeing the word "mori girl" here and there all the time and they're even appearing in the non-Japanese blogging world! That is a wow to me really. If you wonder what on earth Mori Girls are, you better head over to Hello Sandwich and check out this awesome post on Mori Girls! I've decided that the "Mori Girls" are the 21st century version of "Olive Girls". そう思いませんか?(there was a wonderful treasury magazine called "Olive" and I was all over it! and of course I was called an oive girl when I was a teenage school girl ;)

Anyway, I picked up this new Mori Girl magazine at a bookstore the other day to send over to a mori girl in OZ, but I thought there may be more people who might be interested so if you are you can now order it from UGUiSU. You get a cute free tote bag seen in the last photos with this issue ;) Yes, Mori Girls, ah Mori Girls!
The new 2010 Spring/Summer collection catalogue from mina perhonen has just been released. This 120 pages of ring-bound white catalogue is so poetic and truly beautiful. This time they also made DVD with a 16 minuite collection movie. I have some extra copies of the catalogue for the ones who live outside Japan, added here in my shop. Also see images from 2009 autumn/winter.

All images are from CLASKA.

Over the weekend, I went to the exhibition of a collaborative furniture project by mina perhonen and wonderful torafu architects at my very favourite shop/gallery in Tokyo -DO in Claska. Some very interesting new furniture pieces were exhibited including prototypes, and also there were some really lovely cushions and tablewares for sale. I could not resist that hasami-yaki ceramic (from Nagasaki) grey coffee cup & saucer seen in the top picture! (I'm seriously considering for going back for more.) It came in a pretty grey box too :) This exhibition will be going till the end of January, so if you will be in Tokyo check it out. You can also buy these wonderful items at CLASKA's online shop (Japanese).

Also, now the mina perhonen exhibition "The future from the past" is held at the Kanazawa 21st Century Museum until the end of May, so hopefully I will get the chance to go see it!

And for all mina lovers, do check out this and this (wonderful magazines full of mina perhonen!).

New posts here too ;)
All images are from siwa website.
When I was browsing around a shop the other day I came across these wonderful products called "siwa". They are made of this totally new kind of paper called "naoron" that doesn't tear so easily. "siwa" which comes from a word "shiwa" has a meaning of "wrinkle" in Japanese and also is written in two kanji characters that mean "japanese paper" or "washi". It's soft and has beautiful texture (which i love!) yet quite strong (can load up to 10kg!) and apparently highly water-resistant too. I want to get a tote and those slippers - they are so nice!! I wish i could let you feel them!

Images are from http://haradatomoyo.com/

Tomoyo Harada is a Japanese singer/actress who used to be a popular idol in the 80s. I had never properly listened to her music before, but I'm getting kind of addicted to her recent works. Her voice is so soft and the tune is nice in the ears. And she wears minä perhonen!!!!! You can see all the minä perhonen dresses she's wearing in her website.

Also in the video clip of "Kuchinashi no oka(くちなしの丘)", my favourite which I've been playing over and over, she's wearing llovely dresses from mina so check it out! (It's amazing she's 41!)

Wonderful new minä perhonen catalogue, "紋黄蝶 2009-2010 Autumn / Winter Collection" has arrived, yay! This time it's a thick booklet style (70pages) and has lots of lovely images which covers all ladys, mens, childrens and babys collections. It's just so beautiful. mina perhonen is WONDERFUL!

Atelier Kaoru is my favourite jewelry brand from Kyoto. The Kyoto-born designer Kaoru san's designs are inspired by daily seen objects mostly of nature. She handmades the most delicate and beautiful jewelries! I've been a huge fan of her designs though in the past few years she's become quite popular and the price has gone up so I haven't been able to get any new ones for a long time, but those what you see in the above pictures are my KAORU Collection.

The bottom images are from her website (you need to be patient to see this web..), it has very unique atmosphere don't you think? Oh i want that necklace in the last image!
